Terms and Conditions Evaluation

We know them as long, drawn-out documents used to make us feel secure and confident in the confidentiality and validity of certain websites, groups, companies, etc. This unit on terms and conditions and all privacy policies in general was not only eye-opening, but informative to the extent and detail that companies go to secure their end of the deal. It was extremely relatable when thinking about the amount of time, or should I say the time we don’t spend, to read such long documents that could contain agreements to something we may not be comfortable agreeing to if we actually knew.

In some cases, these agreements worry me for future endeavors that we may run across as we get older. We, as in young adults, are trained to move fast, click, and go and I think we could be taken advantage of in the future if we aren’t careful.
